Naxxramas Loot Guide

Naxxramas Loot Guide

Naxxramas (Naxx) is the final 40-man raid of WoW Classic, coming in Phase 6. The next level of progression any guild who has AQ40 on farm status. It offers new class armor sets, class rings, weapons, trinkets, and more. Including a new legendary for casters. This Naxxramas loot guide will help you find your next set of upgrades.

Naxxramas Loot Guide

Argent Dawn | Word of Thawing & Frozen Runes | Wartorn Scraps | Tier 3 Armor | Class Rings | Non-tier Armor | Weapons | Shoulder Enchants | Mark of the Champion | Atiesh | Profession Recipes

Argent Dawn is the faction tied to Naxxramas, but only loosely. For most players, your AD reputation level won’t matter beyond finishing your Naxx attunement quest. Crafters wanting to get the various frost resistance recipes found inside will need to be Exalted with Argent Dawn (tailors only need to be Revered). Otherwise, no other loot is tied to reputation requirements.

What To Expect In WoW Classic Phase 6 | Frost Resistance Gear for Naxxramas

Word of Thawing & Frozen Runes

Word of Thawing can drop from various trash mobs inside Naxxramas. Expect them to be reserved and handled by your guild leaders. They are used to loot Frozen Runes, found in the walls throughout the raid instance.

Frozen Rune

Frozen Rune

If you happen to loot one and your guild is working on getting frost resistance gear crafted, then be sure to hold on to it. Otherwise, you may be able to sell them to a rogue who does stealth farming runs for the Frozen Runes.

Wartorn Scraps

Various types of wartorn scraps will drop from various trash mobs inside Naxxramas. There is one for each armor type:

They are required for Tier 3 armor turn-ins, covered below in this Naxxramas loot guide. As such expect your guild leaders to take and hold on to them, distributing them to players with an armor token and mats ready for turn in.

Tier 3 Armor

Each class has an 8-piece armor set available from Naxxramas, referred to as Tier 3. This Naxxramas loot guide only covers them briefly. You can find a lot more details in the Tier 3 Armor guide.

The armor pieces are not a straight drop like we saw in Molten Core and Blackwing Lair. They use a token system, similar to what we saw in AQ40. The various tokens drop from specific Naxxramas bosses, each one working for two or three classes (paladin and shaman tokens are marked for four classes, but you’ll only have three in your raids). Unlike AQ40 tokens, which rotate class combinations, you will always be competing with the same classes for your Tier 3 tokens.

Tier 3 Token Class Shares:

  • Druid, Hunter, Paladin, Shaman
  • Mage, Priest, Warlock
  • Rogue & Warrior

Once you have a token you can pick up and turn in a related quest from various NPCs at Light’s Hope Chapel. Each quest will require a specific token, wartorn scraps that match your class’s armor type, and various trade goods. The trade goods put a significant cost for each piece. A full Tier 3 set can cost 1,000-2,000 gold in materials. Expect this cost to be your personal responsibility. Being ready will help keep an armor token from skipping you in favor of someone who has their mats ready to turn in.

Requirements for each piece of Tier 3 armor for all classes

Class Rings

Kel’Thuzad, the final boss of Naxxramas, can drop rings specifically for each class. These are the 9th piece to your Tier 3 armor set. As such having your class ring counts toward your Tier 3 set bonus (see Tier 3 armor details above in this Naxxramas loot guide). These rings are also a higher ilvl than other rings from Naxx.

Unlike the rest of your Tier 3 armor set, there is no token, materials, or turn-in required. Just win the loot and you have a new ring.

Naxxramas Armor

Lots of accessories and some non-tier armor pieces are found in Naxxramas. These are all regular drops, no messing around with turn in requirements. For some, the armor piece may be better than their Tier 3 counterpart. And remember you can still get your 8-piece bonus with your class ring.

Naxxramas Weapons

Unlike other raids in WoW Classic, there is no shortage of weapons in Naxxramas. All are straight drops. A few are designed for a specific class. If you can’t find a weapon to drool over in this Naxxramas loot guide you’re playing the wrong game.

Shoulder Enchants

Sapphiron drops what are for many are the best in slot shoulder enchant, one for physical DPS and one for casters.

Might of the Scourge: +26 attack power and 1% crit

Power of the Scourge: +15 damage and healing done by magical spells and effects, 1% crit with spells

But depending on your class and spec’s relationship with crit the Zandalar shoulder enchants may be better for some.

Zandalar Signet of Might (physical) offers 4 more AP, but no crit. Zandalar Signet of Mojo (casters) offers 3 more damage/healing, but again no crit. Zandalar Signet of Serenity (healers) offers 18 more healing and no crit.

The Zandalar enchants are easy to get, provided you’re Exalted with that faction. Collect/buy some bijous or coins and get your enchant. The Sapphire enchants don’t have any rep requirement, but you’ll be competing for it with your raid.

The Phylactery of Kel’Thuzad

Like the other final bosses of WoW Classic raids, Kel’Thuzad drops a quest item: The Phylactery of Kel’Thuzad. The winner can use it to start the quest Fall of Kel’Thuzad. The rewards are one of two trinkets which are an upgrade to your Argent Dawn trinket.

Mark of the Champion (physical): +150 attack power when fighting undead and demons, and can acquire Scourgestones

Mark of the Champion (casters): +85 spell and effect damage against undead and demons, and can acquire Scourgestones

While these aren’t the flashiest trinkets remember that Burning Crusade has a lot of demons to kill.

Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian

Naxxramas brings us the first caster legendary: Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian. It is available in four different varieties, one for druids, mages, priests, and warlocks. It is also an easier and cheaper legendary to get, provided you’re the first one selected for your guild.

Atiesh Greatstaff of the Guardian

Naxx bosses drop Splinter of Atiesh, which need to go to your top Atiesh candidate. Once 40 are collected the quest series begins. But it doesn’t involve any outside materials or anything your guild probably hasn’t already done by that point.

Naxxramas Profession Recipes

These are no professional recipes that drop from bosses or trash in Naxxramas. But crafters with the needed reputations can learn the frost resistance gear recipes from Master Craftsman Omarion. An NPC trapped inside Naxxramas, not far into the Death Knight wing. Once the room is secure anyone can go up to him to learn blacksmithing, leatherworking, and tailoring recipes. You’ll need to have Revered or Exalted reputation with the Argent Dawn.
