Phase 6 will be the final content release of WoW Classic. The opening of Naxxramas gets most of the attention. But as we saw in Phase 5, many other content pieces will also become available at the same time as the final raid instance. This guide will help you learn what to expect in WoW Classic Phase 6. Allowing you to better prepare and set your in-game goals.
Phase 6 arrives on December 1, 2020. With Naxxramas being available on December 3. Check out my updated Phase 6 Quick Start Guide.
Scourge Invasion | Naxxramas | Armaments of Battle | Class Skill Books | Upgraded Nature Resistance | World PvP | Atiesh
Scourge Invasion
A limited time world event starting with Phase 6, heralding the arrival of Naxxramas. Scourge will invade zones and cities around the world. And we will work with the Argent Dawn to push them back. Earning unique gear and rewards that offer increased damage against the undead. Items that won’t be available again until Wrath of the Lich King Classic rolls around.
Naxxramas
Naxxramas will be available after server reset on December 3, 2020, for all regions.
Naxxramas is the final 40-man raid of WoW Classic. It offered the most challenging boss encounters in vanilla WoW. How difficult it’ll be in Classic is yet to be seen. Likely far more players will enjoy a Kel’Thuzad kill than did in 2006, but it’ll still be a step in up difficulty over previous WoW Classic content. Preparation will be key to making early progress.
Naxxramas Preparation for My Guild
Attunement
Naxxramas attunement is a simple quest. You must be honored with Argent Dawn to start and will need to turn in various materials, depending on your AD reputation level.
Honored
- 60 gold
- Arcane Crystal x5
- Nexus Crystal x2
- Righteous Orb x1
Revered
- 30 gold
- Arcane Crystal x2
- Nexus Crystal x1
Exalted
- Free
Frost Resistance Gear
Sapphiron has a frost based DoT which hits everyone within 100 yards. As well as several other frost AoE abilities inflicting damage. Making it a healing intensive fight. Frost resistance gear helps smooth things out, so long as it is balanced with your raid’s performance.

Tier 3 Armor
Tier 3 class armor sets are token-based, like in AQ40. Unlike AQ40 they require a significant amount of trade good materials to be turned in. The total value of mats for a full set can range from 900-3000 gold, depending on your server. Buying what you need now will be cheaper than later.
Consumables
Naxxramas was designed to be “hardcore.” With the expectation that players would use all the tools available to them. Including stacking consumables, which offer powerful combinations. If you don’t usually use consumables that will likely change once you face the challenges of Naxx.
Loot
Naxxramas offers the best loot in WoW Classic. BiS armor pieces that can beat Tier 3, more weapons than in any previous raid, and lots of other items to go with your new class tier look.
Armaments of Battle
Dozens of new quests will appear at Light’s Hope Chapel. Most relate to the Armaments of Battle quests, offering various gear rewards. Kill quests will have you grind specific mobs for parts to turn in. Craftsman writs will have you turn in various items and consumables.
Unfortunately for many players, the rewards will not be worth the effort. Especially if you aren’t Revered or Exalted with the Argent Dawn.
New Class Skill Books
There are new class skill books found in dungeons for druids, mages, rogues, and shaman.
- Book of Ferocious Bite V (Druids) – The Beast, UBRS
- Tome of Conjure Food VII (Mages) – Archivist Galford, Live Strat
- Tome of Frost Ward V (Mages) – World Drop
- Manual of Eviscerate IX (Rogues) – Blackhand Assassin, UBRS
- Tablet of Flame Shock VI (Shaman) – Pyroguard Emberseer, UBRS
- Grimoire of Shadow Ward IV (Warlocks) – World Drop
Upgraded Nature Resistance Gear
New nature resistance patterns and rewards have been released a few weeks ahead of Phase 6. In vanilla WoW these came out with the same patch as Naxxramas and were intended as a soft nerf for AQ40. But for Classic Blizzard had indicated they were considering making them available sooner, and they did.
Not as useful as they would have been when AQ40 first launched. But a little extra help to guilds still having trouble with nature damage heavy fights. And anyone wanting to min/max their setup.

Eastern Plaguelands and Silithus PvP
New world PvP objectives arrive in WoW Classic Phase 6 for both Eastern Plaguelands and Silithus. Alliance and Horde compete to gain zone-wide buffs to benefit all members of their faction. The benefits are limited for those moving on to regular Naxxramas raiding. And servers with a serious faction imbalance shouldn’t expect these to suddenly fix world PvP.

Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian
Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian, is a legendary caster staff tied to Naxxramas. It has several improvements over the previous legendary weapons. For one, there are four versions available for each of the caster classes. For another, it is easier and much cheaper to assemble. Your guild’s biggest issue will be deciding who gets the first one.
